ICC Africa Development Team On 2 Day Working Visit To Uganda

The ICC Africa Development Team led by Patricia Kambarami together with the newly appointed ICC development officer Justine Ligyalingi is on a 2 day working visit of Uganda. 

The duo arrived in the country last night and went straight to work meeting with officials of National Council of Sports (NCS) and the CEO of Uganda Cricket Martin Ondeko.

They will spend two days interacting with the CEO Uganda Cricket, checking the progress of the 360 cricket workshop held early this year, review of 2018 programs and check on 2019 targets.

They will also get a chance to attend a cricket festival organised for the Lugazi community as well as meet with the Mehta family who have been great supporters of cricket in Uganda.  They will wind up their visit with a visit of the cricket community in Walukuba Jinja. 

Justine Ligyalingi who was the CEO of Uganda Cricket for eight years before being appointed by the ICC is very familiar with the state of the game in Uganda and he will be key in helping his mother nation meet the standards required by the ICC as well assist Uganda develop new programs that will develop the game. 

Uganda has been a model in the growth of the game especially ladies cricket which has seen Uganda Cricket win awards from the ICC for having vibrant programs for girls to be involved in cricket.
